Our Research Focus

The Research for Equitable Access to Mental Healthcare (REACH) Lab is a research group, established in 2025, based in the Interdisciplinary Health program at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Globally and locally, we’re exploring how to improve access to mental health promotion, prevention, and care so everyone can receive the support they need in a way that is appropriate for them.

We collaborate with individuals, families, and communities, recognizing that lived experience expertise is essential in mental health research. We work closely with partners across health, social services, and community organizations to drive meaningful, lasting change.

Our work is rooted in health services and implementation science, and is guided by a central commitment:

Mental health care should be accessible, inclusive, and informed by the

real experiences of the people it serves.

Our Supporters

The REACH Lab’s research is made possible through the generous support of our funders, who share our commitment to improving equitable access to mental healthcare.
